Mining
The Mining Group manages hardrock mineral resources of the lands administered by the Trust. The Trust Lands Administration has significant coal reserves in central Utah. Sand, gravel, and rock aggregate also make up a large part of the Trust's mineral revenues. Among the other resources managed by the Mining Group are: oil shale and tar sands, gold and other metals, gemstones, and fossils. These resources have significant leasing potential and return to the beneficiaries.
